In tactical training I used to use a Sig P226 SCT. I bought my first M&P9 and did a training session with it. After that I dumped the Sig and bought a second M&P9 just in case one broke down.
Pros:
The M&P9 is compact and comfortable enough to carry and has the high capacity for training. Nothing can be better than being able to carry the same gun that you train with.
You can find them for under $500.
The ergonomics are great without making the gun ugly.
Con:
The M&P has a magazine disconnect on it. This prevents the gun from firing when a magazine is not in the gun. I dry fire practice allot and this was a problem. The good news is that the magazine disconnect can be removed. See the YouTube video M&P magazine disconnect removal for instructions. It''s a do it yourself process and a good spring from a ball point pen is all that is needed.
5 stars. Best handgun that I''ve shot.
