I traded a Steyr 40 cal for this 357, 6 barrel.... best thing I ever did... S&W is well balanced, and even at around 150ft, this puppy hits the spot! I wouldn''t trade this one off if I had to!!!!Awesome pistol

I have had a S&W 686 , six round for some time now. It is undoubtedly one of the best revolvers I''ve ever owned ]and I own several[. The craftmanship is excellent. Shooting .38s in this gun is like shooting .22s, hardly no kick at all and very, very accurate. The stouter .357 rounds are also very easy to handle, especially with the full lug barrel. Overall, this is my favorite handgun. Way to go Smith & Wesson!

Smith & Wesson bar none make the best revolvers in the world. They are the nexts best thing the Colt but now Smith & Wesson is on top due to the fact Colt no longer sells their hand guns to the public or do they ?
I wish I could own a Smith & Wesson 686 Revolver because they look so nice its like a piece of art work. The only problem is I live in California and the prices on guns are so jack up in Commiefornia so it would be out of my price range to purchase one unless I could find a good deal on one but thats more then unlikely. I am willing to pay up to $650.00 for one but I know its going to be as high as $850.00 or more due the high gun tax in Ca.
